Reading a letter from a Jehovah's Witness, and responding

Back in May (2020) at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I received a letter from a local Jehovah's Witness. I sat on it for a while because I frankly I had been called back to work and actually forgot about it. Until this past Sunday Evening, I finally wrote back. Two more members of my local church congregation received the same. When someone in the community reaches out we have to engage and write back and perhaps God in His Sovereign grace will lead them to repent of the theological cult they are involved in, or a matter of man-centered religion and for Christ to enter their lives.

I don't usually like blogging, but this situation was presented to me and I thought I could demonstrate (in love) how this interaction is going to go. I am mailing out this letter today, and I am providing it below, minus the persons name and info and mine as well.

Below is the one page letter sent to me:

And my response is below:

7/11/2020
Dear Ms. [name redacted]
I received your letter post-marked dated on May 11, 2020. I appreciate you reaching out to me with an encouraging letter in these troubled times. It is certain that your letter is well-intentioned to me to point me onto answering life’s questions, and I truly appreciate that.
However, the reason why I am replying to you, is to let you know, that the answer of hope and a permanent solution to my problem, namely sin, has been accomplished at the cross of Jesus Christ.
When I was 11 years old God had providentially, in His gracious work of salvation, called me to Himself, through the Scriptures. More on that later.
I did not utter a prayer, I did not make a choice. I had been exposed to the consistent gospel-preaching and verse by verse exposition of the Scriptures weekly since my entrance into the world, 1985 at my local church, of which still exists today.
Salvation is a choice made by God, in whereby He has chosen His elect before the foundation of the world to believe in Him, in addition to this- there are doctrines of salvation that express what God has done for those that will/have believe(d) in Him.
Christians are told (but of course Timothy is as well) in 2 Timothy 2:8-10 from the pen of the Apostle Paul through the inspired Author , the Holy Spirit, that we are to
“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s Word is not chained. Therefore, I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.”
This chapter of 2 Timothy is just one of the Scriptures that speak to the sufficiency of the Scripture that God will use His Word to save people from their sin, through the effective work of the triune God.
Learning the answer to life’s questions are answered in the Scripture and mainly in Jesus Christ the God-man who is 100% God, and 100% man. Co-equal, co-existent and co-eternal with God the Father and The Holy Spirit.
We get sick and suffer because of our cursed condition when mankind fell in the garden. Suffering is because we are wicked people and are in need of forgiveness and repentance and faith must be granted to us. (Acts 11:16-18).
I must respectfully decline your offer to visit JW.org because I believe that it is a theological cult. I say this in utmost respect as a human to a human, and I urge you to truly believe in the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, the Jehovah of the New Testament. God Incarnate.  Please rethink your understanding of Jesus Christ. He is absolutely God in the flesh, and is the Mediator between God and man. The Great High Priest of all true believers.
I also urge you to study the Scriptures like the Bereans did in Thessalonica to see if “these things are true”.
Hebrews chapter 1, The Gospel of John chapter 1, and Colossians 1 and 2 speak to the Supremacy of Jesus as He is the Logos, the Word of God, God Himself in Human flesh. Please read those Scriptures. And also Read the epistles of 1 John, 2 John and 3 John.
I hope this letter finds you well. Perhaps there is a conversation we can have about true redemption in Jesus Christ.
For more information please visit my local church’s website,

Thank you for reaching out.
Sincerely,
Joshua

Please pray for this woman was kind to reach out to me, perhaps there can be some dialogue regarding the Savior Jesus Christ. I am not sure how she got a hold of my address and information but its no mistake she wrote to me, I want her to know Christ as God, the Savior. Deity in human flesh.

Maybe I will do more of this, we shall see.

For His glory,

Josh Fritz
